Planned servicing keeps your lift safe, compliant and in working order.
Gartec provides scheduled maintenance across the UK through a network of directly employed engineers. Each visit is carried out in line with current regulations and manufacturer requirements.
Keeping Your Lift Compliant
Lift maintenance in the UK is governed by legislation including:
- LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998) โ Requires that all lifting equipment used at work is subject to thorough examination at regular intervals (every 6 months for passenger-carrying lifts), carried out by a competent person, with written reports retained.
- PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998) โ Requires all work equipment, including lifts, to be maintained in efficient working order and good repair, with records kept of maintenance activities.
- HSE Guidance โ Even where LOLER does not strictly apply (e.g., public access platform lifts in retail), HSE strongly advises equivalent maintenance and inspection regimes to discharge duty of care under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
Failure to maintain a lift correctly can result in enforcement action and increased safety risk. Gartec’s service packages are designed to keep you fully compliant, fully documented, and fully protected.
