Home Lifts for Medical Patients | OT CPD | OT Learning
Gartec home lifts for medical patients offer an innovative solution for home access requirements. Our team are in close contact with many Occupational Therapists, as well as many other medical groups.
We always look for ways to support occupational therapists and have created a CPD (continuing professional development) learning tool to support you about home lifts for medical patients – from funding options to access lift types.
Our new CPD video could give you an innovative solution to help patients stay in their home rather than move, or help them to avoid costly lower floor adaptations. It could mean patients get to move away from a ‘disability look’ product, and mean their home stays a home. Or, it may help you to provide a comprehensive range of options which give them the choice, based on budget, style or requirements.

What Is a CPD?
CPD stands for Continuing Professional Development. The concept centres around continuing to learn after professional qualifications have been achieved, helping many professionals to keep up with new products, services and innovations. There are many ways you can continue to learn – from reading and videos, to presentations and seminars, and a whole host of things in between.
What is the Gartec Home Lift CPD?
Our CPD is a short 15 minute video that runs through the following topics to help you to discuss, understand and specify home access for patients. It discusses more common lift types, as well as the lesser-known platform lift:
- Who are Gartec?
- Analysing Patient Requirements: User, Property, Features, Budget
- Types of Patient Home Lift
- Exploring Platform Home Lifts
- A Little on Regulations for Home Lifts
- Mini Case Studies
By the end of the video, you should have a solid knowledge of what you can offer different types of patients to help them access their whole home.
